
“The American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training program is designed to provide youth ages 11-16 who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to give care safely and responsibly to children and infants. The goal of this training is to help participants develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business; keep themselves and others safe; and learn childcare skills and basic first aid.” (American Red Cross website)
Course Times:
Due to the length of the course, this course is offered seasonally only (June – August).
Babysitter Training Course with Pediatric First Aid CPR AED (Blended Learning) is 5 hours 30 minutes.
Students will need to complete an online learning portion for the First Aid CPR AED portion of the course.
What is Needed?
Complete the Online Learning for the First Aid CPR AED Portion of the course before you come to class.
Bring a drink and lunch and snack to class!
Wear comfortable clothing and shoes (sandals are fine if they are comfortable).
What are the Babysitting Regulations in Minnesota?
While Minnesota does not have a law for babysitter age, many counties in Minnesota do recommend that a child be at least 12 years of age to babysit. Again, there is no law, but rather counties do have recommendations.
